Mr. Marks formally entered the search business in 1982 when he created The Entertainment Search Company and established an unparalleled record as the leading entertainment executive search specialist, thus setting the standard of excellence in the field. Subsequently, in 1986, Korn/Ferry International, the worlds largest recruitment firm, acquired his wholly owned, independent company. Mr. Marks became Founder and Managing Partner of Korn/Ferrys Los Angeles-based Worldwide Entertainment Search Practice, where he launched and managed its global entertainment operation. In 1989, Mr. Marks re-established his own firm as Brad Marks International, which remains the foremost company of its type.
Prior to entering the executive search business, Mr. Marks served as President and Chief Executive Officer of his own production company, Brad Marks Productions, Inc., where he developed and produced original and advertiser supported programming for the networks and first-run syndication. Programs developed and produced by Mr. Marks include CBS annual high-profile event "The National Collegiate Cheerleading Championships" and "When the West Was Fun: A Western Reunion," the ABC special event that was the highest rated special for the network in 1979. Before his tenure in production, Mr. Marks was Executive Vice President of ITC Entertainment, in charge of domestic television and non-theatrical marketing for its extensive program inventory, which included "The Saint," "Secret Agent," "Stingray" and "Thunderbirds." Prior to ITC, he was with Walt Disney Productions, where, as the highest-ranking executive in the companys television division, Mr. Marks was responsible for directing both non-theatrical sales and the launch of the original "Mickey Mouse Club" in national syndication. Moreover, he played a major role in ensuring passage of the Federal Communications Commissions historic Prime Time Access Rule.
Mr. Marks began his career as a Page at ABC, eventually becoming a programming executive at the network.
